GooseChase for Education

The entire conference I kept trying to come up with ways that we could apply the app to our course. We had a field trip coming up and we decided to test it out.

Our field trip was a walking arthitectual tour of Philadelphia. We contacted our guide and explained what we were planning on doing with the scavenger hunt. He was very excited and offered us tips to give to our students. We created a list of clues created our hunt. Once we were all loaded on the bus to head to the city we distributed the link to GooseChase. We explained the rules and expectations of the hunt. We broke the students into teams (you can only have 10 teams for the hunt or you will have to register for the pay version) and began our tour. The students had a great time. We had planned our clues to add to the tour. They had to pay close attention to the tour guide to find some of the clues, so it really helped us keep the students involved in the tour.

Once the pictures are taken students post them in the app to be evaluated for points. And the teachers determine the winner.

Overall, it was a great experience and we are working on ways of incorporating GooseChase into more lesson plans!

These are some of the photos that the students posted to the game that coordinated with the clues.
